Sep 16, 2022 · Wendy Scholten · Flanders Youngsters Auction 2022
The first edition of the Flanders Youngsters Auction was so well received that it will definitely be continued. That is what Luk Van Puymbroeck and Valentijn De Bock say after the end of the live and online auction of young showjumping horses held at CSI Zandhoven, Belgium.
“We will absolutely do this again! But next time during an indoor event and at another time on the calendar. It was stormy and it rained. If you could be indoor, it would be much more agreable for everyone”, says Luk Van Puymbroeck.
The major part of the eleven showjumping horses were sold abroad on Friday-night 16 September, for example, to the USA and Canada thanks to online bidding. “As many as 250 people had logged in.” Luk Van Puymbroeck saw how his 4-yr-old Koriana Z (Kannan x Bamako de Muze) was sold for 44,000 euro. This mare from the Klapscheut familiy does, however, stay in Belgium.
Auction topper, going for 56,000 euro, was the 4-yr-old Maeve Sitte (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Button Sitte), whose dam is active at 1.45m level and the grandam at 1.55m Grand Prix.
“We are grateful for the compliments we received about the quality of the horses and the sales and we hope that the new owners will have a lot of pleasure from the horses.”
